Today we arrive early in Nassau and have plans to tour the Sandals resort there.
We have an early breakfast which was my favorite of the trip. I had eggs Benedict which was prepared to my liking. Our group scurries off to make our way to the Sandals resort. We go through security and through the Nassau Entry Portal. Quickly we are shuffled to an area where taxis are waiting. I was uncomfortable with the pressure to get into a cab when asking about hiring one but, though run down and no A/C we are in a taxi and on our way. The driver charged us $5. a person for transport and agreed to return to pick us up when we wanted to leave. Through town he pointed out major points of interest which was a plus.
Our friend Chrissy received this awesome chocolate spider for her birthday dessert.
I selected the White Chocolate Fudge Cheese Cake with the Raspberry Coulis.
The Sandals review is separate find it here.
We return to the ship about 2 pm. and Ginger and I head to the use our day pass at the Senses Spa onboard. We were not allowed to take pictures but if ever you want a relaxing moment I highly recommend the a visit to the Rain forest on in the Spa. We spent time in the steam room and then used one of the many showers to refresh our skin. Then I went into the hot steam room which is warmer than a typical one. It took my breathe away when I went in but was so worth it. After another cooling rinse under the tropical rain shower we headed to the hot tubs which were amazing. Why are they so different? The view is amazing as it's all glass and you can relax and enjoy the view from the ship. It was something I am happy to have experienced and a day pass at the SPA makes a nice gift for anyone on a cruise. I believe the pass is about 16 a person. You can also purchase multiple days at a discount.
After the spa we head to the shops and prepare to go to the Villains show. Very entertaining and we then join our group for dinner. Tonight's dinner is at the Animator's Palace. One I was looking forward to since Crush joins you for dinner. On our way there is a show in the lobby. Since this was Halloween on the High Seas there was a lot of entertainment nightly with a Halloween Theme. Every night the pumpkin Tree changed.
I picked the sliced Serrano Ham with the Olive Tapanade for my appetizer. The agent across from me selected the Black Truffle Pasta. Both were delicious.
For the entree I selected the Grilled Tuna Steak. It was a very generous portion and cooked to my liking only it really lacked seasoning.
My friend chose the Penne Pasta and was disappointed. It was filling and satiating but not impressive.
Dessert was next. This was the second night and again our service was very slow. It was again after 10 pm when we were just getting the dessert menu while our friends were finished.
So then the best part... dessert! And there is plenty. While it sounded amazing it tasted more like it had shared a cooler for several days with a variety of other foods.
So we spent the evening again in the Lobby looking at photos and shopping. We had a big day planned ahead tomorrow is Castaway Cay and about 8 of us planned to run in the Castaway Cay 5K but as the night wore on those numbers started to dwindle. By bedtime most planned to have coffee on the veranda while 3 of us remained in the running. Breakfast for us was planned at Cabanas at 7.
